Harnessing HMS technology to elevate ore quality

We recently commissioned our 100 TPH Heavy Media Separation (HMS) Plant, marking a key milestone in our journey to enhance ore quality and operational efficiency.

But how does the HMS Technology give a cutting edge to elevate ore quality?

The Heavy Media Separation process uses a dense medium commonly ferrosilicon or magnetite suspended in water to separate valuable minerals from lower-grade material based on their density differences. This method ensures that only the ore with optimal weight and grade is extracted, minimizing impurities right at the start of the value chain.

For our copper and cobalt operations, this means:

Enhanced Ore Quality: HMS technology consistently upgrades run-of-mine ore to higher-grade concentrates, making downstream processes more efficient.

Operational Efficiency: By removing waste rock early in the process, we reduce the volume of material that needs to be transported and processed, lowering costs and energy use.

Sustainable Practices: Less waste means fewer tailings and reduced environmental impact aligning with our commitment to responsible mining.

The commissioning of our state-of-the-art 100 TPH HMS Plant not only boosts the quality and reliability of our output but also underscores our commitment to investing in advanced technologies that drive both productivity and sustainability.

As we continue to innovate, our focus remains clear: Mining Responsibly by Defining Sustainability.
